Hewlett-Packard’s first campus was a rented residential property at 367 Addison Avenue in Palo Alto. The Packards lived on the first floor of the main house, while Bill Hewlett lived in the cottage out back. The living room became Hewlett-Packard’s first conference room, the dining room its first administrative facility and the garage served as Hewlett-Packard’s first workshop and production facility. Hewlett-Packard would purchase the Addison Avenue properties in 2000, a sign of the site’s importance to the company.
