Date: ca. 1964

Hewlett-Packard’s first acquisition was FL Moseley, a company that also started in a garage. FL Moseley made graphic printing devices and was a pioneer in printing along the X-Y axis, as this strip recorder shows. Strip chart recorders were used primarily in applications where there was a need for the continuous recording of measurements, such as the wing stress on aircraft, the seismic activity around oil wells, or the voltage of solar converters.
