Date: ca. 1981

Long before the modern tablet and 2-in-1 boom, Hewlett-Packard was a pioneer in devices that allowed people to interface with their computer in new ways, including early graphics tablets, or “digitizers,” that allowed people to input information through a stylus. The 9111A was the first digitizer not to require a cooling fan, allowing it to be much slimmer and thus paving the way for more portable versions in time.
