Date: 1941

Among Hewlett-Packard’s first products after the 200 series oscillator, the 300A harmonic wave analyzer was a highly sophisticated instrument suitable for both laboratory and production work. It could isolate and measure individual component frequencies of waves. The wood paneling around the sides of the device was a common decoration at the time, but Hewlett-Packard quickly turned away from it because it added to devices’ cost without adding to their function.
