Celebrating 10,000 CRTs

Before the rise of affordable LED systems (which Hewlett-Packard developed), cathode-ray tube (CRT) displays dominated computer monitor technology. Hewlett-Packard had a head start in CRT technology because of its years using it in instrument displays. The company celebrated the sale of its 10,000th CRT computer terminal in 1977.
