Date: ca. 1938

Dave Packard married Lucile “Lu” Salter in 1938, not long before the couple moved from Schenectady, New York, to Palo Alto so Dave and Bill Hewlett could start Hewlett-Packard together. Lu would be crucial to the company’s success, and she and Dave remained partners in life until Lu passed away in 1987.
