Carleton S. “Carly” Fiorina became the first woman in history to head a Dow 30 firm when she became CEO of Hewlett-Packard Company in 1999. During her six years at the helm, she would oversee several key milestones for Hewlett-Packard Company, including the company’s deal to acquire Compaq, completed in 2002. It was the largest acquisition in company history and for a time made Hewlett-Packard the largest PC manufacturer on earth.
