Women at Hewlett-Packard: A Storied Legacy

Women employees have been a part of Hewlett-Packard since the beginning, starting just months after the company’s founding in 1939 when Hewlett-Packard hired its first female employee as a secretary. By 1964, more than 2,600 women worked for Hewlett-Packard, representing 37 percent of total employment.
