Date: 1982

Hewlett-Packard’s 9121 drive was among the first devices in the United States to use 3.5″ floppy disk drives. It was also the first Hewlett-Packard product to use a new sort of slim, stackable form factor that made it easy to integrate with other devices in a single storage case. Hewlett-Packard would continue to use that form factor for more than 10 years.
