Inkjet Printheads for the People

Date: 1984

With an inkjet printer, characters were painted on paper by spraying the ink through very tiny holes in the printhead. To keep the printheads reliable and low maintenance, they were designed to be disposable and easy to change whenever the ink ran out, no mean engineering feat to pull off while keeping the price down.
