The 9866A dot matrix printer was a highly desirable product in its day, able to connect to a variety of Hewlett-Packard devices and capable of up to 250 lines per minute. Dot matrix printing would remain the industry standard until the mid-1980s, when Hewlett-Packard’s Inkjet and LaserJet printers suddenly made their predecessor seem slow and outdated.
