Thanking Barney Oliver with an HP 35 Plaque
Date: Undated
The development of the first handheld scientific calculator (the HP 35) was no small feat and the undertaking proved to be a revolutionary moment in the tech industry. In recognition of this milestone, along with several others, the staff of HP Labs’ Electronic Research Center gave Barney Oliver this plaque to express their appreciation for his leadership as head of HP Labs and director of R&D for Hewlett-Packard. The plaque contained mounted components of the first HP 35 logic chip and keyboard infrastructure.
