Date: 1938

While Bill and Dave were preparing to start their own company, Bill wrote to Dave about a property on Addison Avenue in Palo Alto, California, that could serve as a residence and a workspace. The Addison Avenue property would become Hewlett-Packard’s first home, and the garage where Bill and Dave worked would eventually play a pivotal role in the rise of Silicon Valley.
