HP’s First Equal Opportunities Manager
Hewlett-Packard always had a nondiscrimination policy in hiring, but its understanding of how best to address racial inequality evolved continuously throughout its existence. In 1968, CEO Dave Packard announced the creation of the company’s first Equal Opportunities Manager to help HP do more to develop and improve equality initiatives.
