Hewlett-Packard continued to burnish its reputation for high-quality, low-cost audio equipment with the 205 series of Audio Signal Generators. In addition to offering more power than the original 200 series, the 205 series featured either one or two built-in voltmeters on the left-hand side to provide real-time measurements. The combination of dials and knobs helped the device capture the aesthetic of mid-century instruments — so much so that a 205AG recently found new life as a background prop in the retrofuturistic world of the Fallout television series.
