The HP 300: The Standalone Unit

The HP 300 was an attempt to find middle ground between the large mainframes of the 1960s and 1970s and the networked personal computers of the 1980s. It came in an all-in-one box that included processing hardware, software and memory, freeing customers from the need to build their own systems using individual components. It offered a built-in desk and keyboard, but could also support up to 16 attached terminals.
