Date: 2011

Developed by HP Labs and first introduced in 2010, StoreOnce technology, shown here in the HP B6200 48TB StoreOnce Backup System, reined in the explosive growth in Data Center storage needs by eliminating multiple saved versions of the same data. It began as a part of Hewlett-Packard’s StorageWorks line, but proved popular enough to expand into its own Hewlett-Packard brand.
