Digital Equipment Corporation’s Programmed Data Processor-11 (PDP-11) series was perhaps the most popular minicomputer in history. It was in production from 1970 until the 1990s. During that time, around 600,000 units were sold. Digital Equipment Corporation joined Hewlett-Packard in 2002.
